Online Service

Welcome

Welcome to MOBC's online Sunday service. While we have started holding in-person Sunday services again, we recognise the value in providing an online service for those who are unable to attend in-person. This simply liturgy mirrors the in-person services as much as possible. We pray that it'll be a blessing to you in your worship of God.

Simply follow the order of service, clicking on the video links as appropriate.

Worship

For hundreds of years Christians have used music and singing to praise and worship God. We hope you enjoy listening to the song below. You might even like to sing along.

Jesus Messiah

He became sin who knew no sin
That we might become His righteousness
He humbled Himself and carried the cross
Love so amazing love so amazing

Jesus Messiah Name above all names
Blessed Redeemer Emmanuel
The Rescue for sinners
The Ransom from heaven
Jesus Messiah Lord of all

His body the bread His blood the wine
Broken and poured out all for love
The whole earth trembled and the veil was torn
Love so amazing love so amazing

All our hope is in You
All our hope is in You
All the glory to You God
The Light of the world

Prayers

Prayer of Praise

Our Father, we thank you for the birth of Jesus, our saviour. Though he was rich, he became poor for our sakes, that we might become rich. Though he was in very nature God, he did not consider equality with God something to be grasped. He is the Word made flesh, and the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of God’s being. We praise him as the Son of God and Son of Man. Amen.

Prayers of Intercession

  • Pray for those who will separated from loved ones over the holiday season due to the pandemic and travel restriction
  • Thank God for those who have been able to return to work in recent weeks
  • Pray for those who are dealing with chronic and serious illness
  • Thank God for the reassuring presence of the Holy Spirit in all situations
  • Pray for all Scripture teachers and Christian chaplains in schools

Worship

Come Thou Long Expected Jesus

Come Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free
From our fears and sins release us
Let us find our rest in Thee
Israel's strength and consolation
Hope of all the earth Thou art
Dear desire of every nation
Joy of every longing heart

Joy to those who long to see Thee
Dayspring from on high appear
Come Thou promised Rod of Jesse
Of Thy birth we long to hear
O'er the hills the angels singing news
Glad tidings of a birth
Go to him your praises bringing
Christ the Lord has come to earth

Come to earth to taste our sadness
He whose glories knew no end
By his life he brings us gladness
Our Redeemer, Shepherd, Friend
Leaving riches without number
Born within a cattle stall
This the everlasting wonder
Christ was born the Lord of all

Born Thy people to deliver
Born a child and yet a King
Born to reign in us forever
Now Thy gracious Kingdom bring
By Thine own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone
By Thine all sufficient merit
Raise us to Thy glorious throne

Benediction

Romans 11:33-36

Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgements, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counsellor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Offering

An important part of the Christian's worship of God is the giving of their finances. We understand that in the current climate many people's ability to give will be seriously compromised. Those people are very much in our prayers. If you are in a position to maintain your weekly giving then we encourage you to give by electronic funds transfer to:
