Online Service

Welcome to MOBC's online Sunday service. While we have started holding in-person Sunday services again, we recognise the value in providing an online service for those who are unable to attend in-person. This simply liturgy mirrors the in-person services as much as possible. We pray that it'll be a blessing to you in your worship of God.

Simply follow the order of service, clicking on the video links as appropriate.

Welcome & Notices — 5th July

For hundreds of years Christians have used music and singing to praise and worship God. We hope you enjoy listening to the songs below. You might even like to sing along.

Come People of the Risen King

Come people of the Risen King
Who delight to bring Him praise
Come all and tune your hearts to sing
To the Morning Star of grace
From the shifting shadows of the earth
We will lift our eyes to Him
Where steady arms of mercy reach
To gather children in

Rejoice rejoice let ev'ry tongue rejoice
One heart one voice
O Church of Christ rejoice

Come those whose joy is morning sun
And those weeping through the night
Come those who tell of battles won
And those struggling in the fight
For His perfect love will never change
And His mercies never cease
But follow us through all our days
With the certain hope of peace

Come young and old from ev'ry land
Men and women of the faith
Come those with full or empty hands
Find the riches of His grace
Over all the world His people sing
Shore to shore we hear them call
The truth that cries through ev'ry age
Our God is all in all

Great In Power

Praise Him you heavens
And all that's above
Praise Him you angels
And heavenly hosts
Let the whole earth
Praise Him

Praise Him the sun moon
And bright shining stars
Praise Him you heavens
And waters and skies
Let the whole earth
Praise Him

Great in power
Great in glory
Great in mercy
King of Heaven
Great in battle
Great in wonder
Great in Zion
King over all the earth

Prayer of Praise & Thanks

O Lord our God, You are highly exalted and I will praise Your name for ever and ever. You are worthy of praise and Your greatness is beyond my comprehension. You are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. You are faithful to Your promises and loving toward all You have made. You are good to all and my mouth will speak in praise of You. Amen.

Prayers of Intercession

Take a few moments to pray:

  • For all those who have been affected by COVID-19.
  • For political leaders and health experts as they coordinate the response to the pandemic both in Melbourne where there is a spike in cases and around the world where the situation is much worse than here in Australia.
  • For scientists who are working to produce a vaccine.
  • For MOBC as it negotiates this period of transition and seeks to appoint a new Senior Pastor.
  • For all local churches as they seek to learn the lessons of the past few months and seize new opportunities going forward.

Back to Basics · 1 Corinthians 2v1-5

O Church Arise (Arise Shine)

O Church arise and put your armour on
Hear the call of Christ our Captain
For now the weak can say that they are strong
In the strength that God has given
With shield of faith and belt of Truth
We’ll stand against the devil’s lies
An army bold whose battle cry is love
Reaching out to those in darkness

Our call to war to love the captive soul
But to rage against the captor
And with the sword that makes the wounded whole
We will fight with faith and valor
When faced with trials on ev'ry side
We know the outcome is secure
And Christ will have the prize for which He died
An inheritance of nations

Arise shine for your Light has come
Arise shine for the risen Son
Lift your eyes we are His radiant bride
Arise O Church arise

Come see the cross where love and mercy meet
As the Son of God is stricken
Then see His foes lie crushed beneath His feet
For the Conqueror has risen
And as the stone is rolled away
And Christ emerges from his grave
This victory march continues 'til the day
Every eye and heart shall see Him

So Spirit come put strength in every stride
Give grace for every hurdle
That we may run with faith to win the prize
Of a servant good and faithful
As saints of old still line the way
Retelling triumphs of His grace
We hear their calls and hunger for the day
When with Christ we stand in Glory

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all God’s people. Amen.

An important part of the Christian's worship of God is the giving of their finances. We understand that in the current climate many people's ability to give will be seriously compromised. Those people are very much in our prayers. If you are in a position to maintain your weekly giving then we encourage you to give by electronic funds transfer to:

BSB: 704-922
Account #: 100 002 831
Name: MOBC Offering
